COMPETITIONS

OA 0081 ECO-STRATES, AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN GRUYERE
Gruyère (Svizzera), 2013

The project proposes to create a covered courtyard by a bridge structure which embrace the middle of the village and the alpine landscape and contains some several classes.

The design of the school allows to:
- screen out a courtyard where, in anyway, all exterior childhood activities occur,
- screen out the whole building relative to the direction of the cold wind,
- to play pedestrian people on right path,
- to overlook the view to the main landscape,
- to close the classrooms off by the noise, encreasing the concentration,
- to create several areas for the students and the teachers.
- to adjust the building to the strict weather trend with some specific technological expedients, like the garden-roof, the photovoltaic panels and geothermal equipment.

0A 0062 EXHIBIT SPACE: EX AGIP FUEL SERVICE STATION RECOVERING
Massa (Italia), 2005

- It is a matter of an artifact built in 1953 and planned by the Arch. Baciocchi.

- The industrial wreckage had to be destroyed.
- The building is composed by 2 principal bodies: a nucleus that contains some various     services and an over platform/roof. The reinforced concrete thin platform is an aerial structure of round form, a kind of irregular ellipse that works up in one-way (sea-mountains).
The project worked for saving the industrial wreckage, conceived like relict of the history of the town: the building became a exhibition space (interior space) with exterior posts of power unit for electrical cars.

0A 0059 NAM JUN PAIK MUSEUM: CRITICAL MASS
Corea, 2003

The project concept grounds on four guidings, too far away from Nam Juin Paik world:

- The mouvement of a meteorite.
- The "meeting" between the meteorite and the heart.
- The sign shape, like the crater form, created by the meteorite in the heart, after its fall.
- The final shape of the museum generated by the collision between the meteorite and the heart which arises from meteorite activity.
The design of the museum shows itself like a misterious mass generated by the impact between the meteorite and the soil: it rappresents the pile of the mass in the direction of the collision.
Eight different holes compose the longitudinal section of the museum: each hole is an elliptical tunnel  of several shapes or dimension and which contains a specific function. Many stairs or rainways connect all the holes.
The main structure is in metal and concrete and the entire building is coverd by the soil.

OA 0015 GEO-CENTER MONS KLINT
Mons Klint (Danimarca), 2001

The competitions site was in Danemark and the most important problems were attached to the climatic aspects:

-High humidity level.
-Freezing weather.
The project concerned a building that "played and lived in harmony" with that stricted weather.
Its skin was generated by two differents layers:
-a glass interior surface,
-an exterior layer composed by two differents materials: aluminum blades and photovoltaic surface.
The color of the Geo-Center changed in relation with the weather trend.
